Heflin - Virginia Almaroad Estes, 91, died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Abel Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Estes, Rev. Pete Frames, and Rev. Bill Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, November 01, 2014 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include: Daughter - Kay Steen, Heflin, AL, Son's - Ray Estes, Tony Estes, Gary Estes, and Tim Estes of Heflin, AL 14 - Grandchildren, 21 - Great Grandchildren and one - Great-Great Grand Child.
Serving as pallbearers will be; Steve Estes, Zack Steen, Lee Estes, Mike Estes, Stacey Estes, and Shawn Estes.
Mrs. Estes was preceded in death by her husband, Orblee Estes and daughter, Patricia Ann Estes. She was the youngest of 8 siblings."Gin" as she was lovingly known was always a hard worker who loved to help her neighbors and friends, whether it was taking them food from her garden or cooking huge meals. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her compassion for giving to those in need will be greatly missed. "Gin" has left each one of us with wonderful memories, whether it's in a favorite recipe, a funny saying or her ability to cook a full course meal, enough to feed an army and still make it to church on Sunday. She left a large family behind but each one of us has a little piece of her inside of us. The family would like to extend a thank you to all of the care givers and Alacare Hospice.
