Danny Joe Russell, 65, died Friday, March 18, 2016, at Bethany House in Auburn. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 21, 2016, at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Randolph County, with John Roberts and Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 20, 2016. Dryden Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his son, David Shannon Russell (Cynthia) of Anniston, granddaughter, Gabie Russell; sisters, Terri Lowe of Lula, Georgia and Veronica Savage of Cedartown, Georgia. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. He was a resident of Randolph County for the past 12 years and served his country in the U.S Army, serving tours in Vietnam and Okinawa. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, Gabie. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, fishing, and watching professional wrestling, and taking care of his dog, Cricket. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Russell, his parents, Howard and Betty Russell and brother, Howard Alton Russell, Jr.
