Obituary for Wyatt Edwards

On July 28, Wyatt Edwards (94) a former Cleburne and Calhoun County resident, passed away peacefully at his home in Tampa, Florida. Wyatt moved to Tampa where he lived with his daughter Barbara after having a stroke almost 5 years ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hayward Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Lower Cane Creek Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mary Jane Naugle Edwards, his son John Daniel Edwards, his sisters; Jencie Edwards, Ibis Freeman, and Ilene Williams. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Edwards Stearns, his son, James Wyatt Edwards, sister, Abi Counts, 2 granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Also numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
Wyatt was a veteran of WWII. He was part of the 95the Infantry, one of The Iron Men of Metz. He loved to attend their reunions and went almost every year until 2005.
He retired from the City of Fort Meyers, Florida where he had been a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator for almost 30 years.
He was a member of the Lions Club, a proud blood donor having donated gallons of blood. He enjoyed his bowling league and traveling around our great country.
Wyatt will be dearly missed by family and friends and remembered as one of the kindest, most helpful people on could know.
