Funeral services for Joel A. Robinson, age 73, will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 10, 2016, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive cemetery on County Road 65. The family will receive friends Monday, October 10, 2016 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Joel passed away on October 8, 2016, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Williams Robinson; sons, Paul(Diane) Robinson, Joseph(Laura) Robinson and Johnny Mark Thrower; grandchildren, Jess Robinson Albright, Zion Robinson, Malia Pope, and Robert and Elizabeth Evans; great grandchild, Easton Cordia Albright; and a sister, Barbara(Bill) Owen.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Williams, Bill Owen, Joey Williams, Ed Williams, Joe Robinson, and Paul Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Heflin Masonic Lodge #502.
He was a member of Muscadine Baptist Church, Heflin Masonic Lodge #502, served as Cleburne County Commissioner, District 1, for 12 years and owned and operated West Georgia Fire Protection for 23 years prior to retirement.
Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur D. Robinson and Cordia Harris Robinson.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Amedysis Hospice of Rainbow City with special thanks to caregivers Mark Thrower and Bobbie Wilson for their loving care and support.
