Obituary for Mary Ola Fordham

Services for Mrs. Mary Ola Fordham were held at Dryden’s Funeral Home Monday January 30, 2017, officiated by Pastor Benny Abney Hurricane Methodist Church, where she was a member. Interment will be at Pine Grove Baptist Church in the community of Bells Mill where her parents, sister, son, infant son and other family members are buried.
The 3rd child of six, Mary Ola Skinner was born in a small community outside of Heflin to Lloyd Bishop Skinner and Lavada Champion Skinner August 11, 1932 and was a lifetime resident of Cleburne County. Mary Ola joined others of her family who went before her in Heaven on January 28, 2017. She was 84 years old.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son Richard Neal Fordham, whom she has greatly missed since his passing, as well as her parents, one sister Linda (Bill) Skinner Bailey and one brother Ralph (Eursula) Skinner, sister-in-laws Geneva (Eurtis) Fordham Bible, Glenice (Junior) Fordham Tate. Remaining behind to cherish her memory are Mary Ola’s husband Neal Fordham, brother Neal (Sybil) Skinner, brother Ross (Sue) Skinner, brother Wayne (Carolyn) Skinner , son Ron (Susan) Fordham and family, grandchildren and their families: Allan (Aundria) Fordham, Sonya (Tracy) Fordham Terrell, Jennifer (Jeremy) Fordham Goslin, Jonathan (Ashlyn) Fordham, great grandchildren: Stephen Fordham, Samuel Fordham, Whitley Wright Ramirez, Dylan Wright, Hunter Fordham, Hunter’s not yet born brother, and William Goslin; great great grandchild: Noah Ramirez. In-laws and their families Arlene (Verbon) Fordham Lambert, Ocie Fordham (Barbara), Faye Fordham Boswell (John), Verna (Dodson) Fordham Mathis, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and their families.
Mary Ola enjoyed her life as a faithful Christian who fully trusted God even during the worst of times, devoted homemaker, loving wife and mother. She completely filled her responsibilities with all her energy, love and a humble passion, consistently putting others before herself, even when she was not well.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, great grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
The family wants to thank the professional caregivers at Regional Medical Center in Anniston and Cleburne Nursing Home in Heflin where she and her husband Neal spent a short time at each facility the last few days of her life receiving constant care, and Dr. Bidikov of Heflin, and Dr. Hickson of Anniston who helped the other professionals make her remaining days comfortable and supported her through the years.
