Obituary for Samanthy Catherine Parrish Wilkinson

Samanthy Catherine Parrish Wilkinson
Catherine P. Wilkinson went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2017. Samanthy Catherine Parrish was born in Randolph County near Wadley, Alabama on July 1, 1923. She was the daughter of George Samuel Parrish and Mary Eunice Weaver Parrish. She lived in Wadley, Alabama, Columbus, Georgia, and Pine Mountain Valley, Georgia before moving to Heflin, Alabama. She spent her last years living in Anniston, and was a resident of Autumn Cove for eleven and half years.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilkinson will be Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 12:00 PM till time of service at Dryden Funeral Home.
She is survived by her son, William Q. Wilkinson, Jr. and wife Martha, of Anniston, daughters Paula Skelton of Capitola, California, Lynn Wilkinson of Heflin, Alabama, and her son-in-law Jerry Esterheld of Crofton, Maryland. She is also survived by the pride of her life, her grandchildren, Michael Weathers, Scott Weathers (Cindy), Billy Wilkinson, Michael Esterheld (Heather), Kathe Thomas (Dan), Kristina Esterheld (Cooper), Christopher Skelton, and Anthony Skelton (Pearl), and her 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephew whom she loved very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Willie Belle Clegg (C.F.), Mary Frances Parrish, and Gladys Grant (Monroe), her brother Roy Parrish (Tavia), and her oldest daughter, Annette Esterheld.
Catherine graduated from Wadley High School and worked as a bookkeeper first for her father and for Mr. Spears, then later for C.F. Clegg and Company, and finally for Tyson Foods in Anniston. She was an amazing woman who was still sending e-mails and doing her own books until the week she died. She loved her family and friends and was genuinely interested in each person she met. She cared deeply about each of her children and grandchildren and other family members, and this love was extended to all of their families and friends. She kept an exensive prayer list, and this reached out to all of the Pine Grove Baptist Church family as well.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Regional Medical Center, the staff in the Emergency Room and the eighth floor staff, Dr. Bidikov, and Dr. Divalentin; all were wonderful and so caring. We appreciate all those at Autumn Cove who were so kind to her. We also appreciate those who were so kind to us and lifted us up in their prayers.
