Jerry Wayne  Riddle
Jerry Wayne Riddle, age 67, Loving Husband and Father, passed from this Life to be with his Lord and Heavenly Father on July 27, 2017, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Janie C. Riddle; mother, Christine M. Riddle; brother, Dr. Larry J. Riddle (Donna); sister, Debbie R. Skinner; daughters, DeAnn R. Hightower, Hendoly R. Michaels (Brian), Wendy L. Cash (Bobby), and son, Matthew S. Laminack (Lindsey), Father-In-Law, John F. Coggin, his grandchildren: Kolby H. Bannon (Cole), Rachel E. Perry, Noah C. Lindsey, Alexander Kayd Hightower, Tucker C. Michaels, Brylee A. Michaels, and Will L. Laminack.
Jerry attended Cleburne County Schools and graduated from Cleburne County High School in 1968. He attended Gadsden State and Building/Construction School in Atlanta, GA. He previously worked with J. W. Riddle Trucking, Moore Business Forms, and was later self employed in construction and plumbing. Jerry served in the Army National Guard for six years and always showed love for his Country.
Jerry was previously married to his high school sweetheart, Ann Haley Riddle for 32 years, until she lost her battle with cancer.
Jerry was an avid hunter, biker, golfer, enjoyed sports, and antique vehicles. He was also a great mechanic. His family was his life, and his church and church family were very important to him. He was a wonderful Christian husband to his wife Janie for 14 years, and a wonderful father and grandfather. He was an active member of Heflin Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, and also enjoyed mission work with the Cleburne County Disaster Relief Group. He was also an active choir member.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Ewell Milton Riddle; brother, Michael Riddle; wife, Ann Haley Riddle; and granddaughter, Haley R. Capps.
Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Riddle will be at Heflin Baptist Church on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 29, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home, Heflin, AL. Ministers will be Dr. Larry Riddle, Rev. Brent Thompson, and Rev. Phil Morris.
Pall Bearers will be Charlie Cochran, Bobby Bailey, Joe Harlan, Glen Hyatt, Roger Hiett, James McDermott, Don Roberts, Phillip Roberts, Kyle Thompkins, Jim Tullis, Mike Vines, and Mark Vise.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Mark Riddle, Zach Riddle, Carson Riddle, Noah Lindsey, Kayd Hightower, Brian Michaels, Blake Young, Brock Young, Mark Capps, Matthew Laminack, Shane Hiett, and Rusty Hiett.
To know Jerry was to love him. He was a blessing to many friends and to his family. Thank you Jerry for this journey, and we know that this is not good bye, but we will see you later.
