Heflin - LTC Clarence Bradley Duckworth, USA, Ret., 74, died April 27, 2017 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, AL. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, at Parker Memorial Dearmanville Campus, Hwy. 78, Anniston with Rev. Joey Bentley officiating. Burial will be at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2017 2 PM until 4 PM. at Dryden Funeral Home.
Survivors include:
Wife, Caron Skinner Duckworth-Heflin, AL; Daughter, Terri (Marc) DiCino- Phoenix, Arizona; Daughter, Lana (Rich) Robinson-Trussville, AL; Son, Dennis Duckworth-Seattle, WA; Son, Matthew (Natalie) Corban-Oxford, AL; Sisters-Sharon (Jimmy) Walker-Jonesboro, AR; Janet (Richard) Faulkner-Anchorage, AK; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Beverly and Patrick Casey-Heflin, AL; Mother-in-law, Pat Skinner-Heflin, AL.
Grandchildren: Derrick Robinson, Heather Robinson, Micah Newell, Branson Corban and Sutton Corban
Nieces and Nephews: Philip Duckworth, Tamara Duckworth, Sarah Duckworth, Heath Faulkner, Tim Walker, Shane Walker, Nicole Cousins, Alexandra Casey and Benjamin Casey.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lillian Duckworth and his brother, Bernard "Buddy" Duckworth.
Pallbearers: Rich Robinson, Derrick Robinson, Patrick Casey, Benjamin Casey, Hunter Howle and Hayden Howle.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Genesis Sunday School Class of Parker Memorial Dearmanville.
Clarence was a native of Jonesboro, AR and a resident of Alabama for 38 years, spending the last 15 years residing in Heflin. He retired from the United States Army and W.R. Grace and Company and was a member of Parker Memorial Dearmanville Campus in Anniston. Clarence served with the 219th Aviation Company (Headhunters) from July 1969-July 1970 and was stationed in Pleiku where he flew the Cessna L-19 Bird Dog. After serving in Vietnam, he became an Army Ranger and a Rotary Wing Pilot.
Clarence loved his family, his friends, his horses, Harley Davidson motorcycles and was an avid military history buff. For the past nine years, Clarence’s constant companions, besides his wife, Caron, have been his beloved boxers, Duke and Maggie. Clarence, Duke and Maggie could always be seen around Heflin visiting their friends at the bank or Jack’s drive-thru window.
