Gladys Ann Spivey Johnson, age 82, resident of Heflin, Alabama, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Regional Medical Center in Anniston early Sunday, December 23rd. Before moving to Heflin, Gladys was born and raised in Oxford, Alabama. She worked for Sewell Manufacturing Company for years and several local grocery stores as well. In all that she did, she shared smiles, laughter, and hugs with her customers and co-workers. She was well known for her lively spirit and colorful personality. She made certain those around her always felt her genuine love. Gladys was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Porter Gene Johnson. Survived by her daughter, Shelia Turner of Heflin and her granddaughter, Dr. Ashlee Turner-Lee (Lamar) of Springfield, Missouri. Her services will be held at Dryden Funeral home in Heflin, Alabama on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
